1. 개요 [편집]

엘튼 존과 태런 에저튼이 부른 로켓맨의 주제가. 영화 삽입곡들 가운데 유일하게 영화를 위해 만들어진 곡이다.

가사는 엘튼 존의 1970년대 전성기 시절을 포함하여, 자신의 인생을 탐구하는 자전적 내용을 담았다. 화려했지만 한편으로는 씁쓸하고 어려움 가득했던 삶을 이겨내고 잃어버렸던 진정한 자신을 되찾았다는 걸 노래하고 있다. 엘튼 존은 슈프림스의 1964년 곡 "Come See About Me"에 영감을 받아서 작곡했고, 2019년 개봉한 라이온 킹 실사판 엔딩 크레디트 삽입곡 "Never Too Late"와 이 곡을 같은 날에 작곡했다고 밝혔다.[1][2]

골든 글로브 주제가상, 크리틱스 초이스 어워즈 주제가상, 그리고 아카데미 주제가상을 수상하며 각종 시상식을 휩쓸었다.

2. 뮤직비디오 [편집]

2019년 6월 13일, 유튜브에 공개된 뮤직비디오는 그래픽 아티스트 카이 애런스(Kii Arens)가 제작했다. 영화 속 장면들과 실제 앨범 커버들이 화려한 색의 그래픽으로 치장되어 나오며, 레코딩 스튜디오에서 노래를 녹음하는 엘튼 존과 태런 에저튼의 모습 역시 번갈아 등장한다.
